Here at Brandt, we believe in Functional Fitness for everyone, for life!
Kyle Brandt has been studying martial arts and physical fitness for most of his life. He began teaching martial arts at the Arlington School of Self Defense under Master Instructor Tommy Stallard when he was 15 years old. He discovered then that his passion is to help people with their fitness goals.
To learn more about the human body, Kyle earned a kinesiology degree from Texas Christian University in 2005. In 2008, he began Fort Worth’s second ever CrossFit in Downtown Fort Worth. Two years later, he and wife Sarah opened their own gym and studio in Fort Worth’s Near Southside. In late 2013, they decided to make the move back to downtown. The rest is history!
At Brandt we get together outside of the gym for social events, have a happy hour workout every Friday, and have parties to celebrate holidays and more. Our members regularly compete in competitions all over the metroplex and we send a cheering section! We’re not just a gym–we’re a family!
Kyle Brandt is a certified CrossFit instructor with a degree in kinesiology from TCU. He has been teaching CrossFit since 2008. Kyle is also a 5th Degree Black Belt and Master Tae Kwon Do instructor and has been teaching martial arts to kids and adults for 18 years.

Johnny found Crossfit in 2010 while looking for a change from the regular gym routine and home fitness video programs. Immediately becoming addicted to the variety of movements found in Crossfit, especially barbell training, he has never looked back. With over 5 years of experience now, he enjoys sharing his experience and helping others improve their fitness. He is also an obstacle course racing enthusiast. In addition, he has a degree in nutritional science and practices full-time as a licensed therapeutic optometrist.
A longtime member of Brandt, Alysha found CrossFit after a turning point in her life and was instantly drawn to the camaraderie. Competitive and strong by nature, she took an interest in studying the technical aspects of the Olympic lifts. Alysha most enjoys helping our members improve upon their strength and ability to lift heavier and more efficiently. She is USA Weightlifting certified and coaches our Olympic weightlifting classes as well.
Jenna Henghan first became involved in CrossFit during college. She fell in love with the competition driven fitness program after playing basketball into college. Jenna recently moved from the suburbs of Chicago to Fort Worth for a job with Mercedes Benz Financial. Jenna was pleased to find a community like Brandt so far from home.…
David Christie, a local Firefighter/EMT-I, started coaching at Brandt in 2014. He has been an athlete with our gym since we opened the doors in 2008 and loves nothing more than a good long metcon.
